BACK FROM RL 288 LEADERS RETREAT!
wow, i think i have not been to church camp/ retreat for quite a while, so seeing all the familiar faces again is really comforting.
1st day: arrived at tct for romans lesson, was not feeling well because i was experiencing chest pains before that and i have not recovered from my flu. took a bus from tct to praisehaven @ salvation army, and begin to check-in at the canteen. i was in the group 'Jacob', which consist of the people szechuan, samuel, tiffany, xiangru, weilian, who came for the 1st night, and eric, kimseng, siewfei, gladwin and leslie, who came the next day. then off to the bunk that i shared with samantha poh's cell, shinshin, huishan and yuping. B1-06. of course with my cell group too. the bunk had beds, aircon and blankets+pillows. wowness for a retreat! supper was prata with curry, and teh tarik, and i got to know my group better.
2nd day: did not sleep the entire night, so i woke up early, and with cordelia, went to bathe. arrived for breakfast, which was beehoon, eggs and fishcake. a light hearted breakfast. devotion and sharing after that. then went to the function room for official camp opening, ice breakers, worship and sharing. pastor's sharing was about the many seeds that God has given to us, but we must learn how to hold on and protect the seed because the devil will try to take it away from us. after sharing and watching the video on pastor brian burton who was going to preach that night, we prepared for 'amazing race'! started with finding stickers around the campsite, then off to botanic gardens for our next station. station at botanic gardens was a mini telematch, then after that down to 313 @ somerset for the HMV clue finding and sentence solving. lunched at 313's foodcourt, which was super expensive and not worth it. but still. thank God for food. haha. then down to vivo's sky garden for a 'mtv' video shooting, which was super hilarious. and super throw-face. and off to sentosa!! headed to palawan beach ( i seem to be forever going only to palawan beach whenever i go to sentosa). it was this telematch again, of charades, passing sponge with feet and squeezing the water into a bottle to fill it, and some holding the candle with one finger thing. i was totally wet! and partially thanks to ben seow. hahaha. bathed and then went back to see pastor roland getting dunked by some of the guys. LOL. had longan-almond jelly ice at koufu before heading to tct by bus. dinner was zi char, then went for service at tct. loved pastor brian's sermon! headed to some forest near our campsite, and did night walk, which i will talk more about in my next post. then back to praisehaven to write on the 'facebook' walls.
3rd day: had an awesome sleep, so woke up refreshed. washed up, and had breakfast with estee's cell and ps lai fun. cleared stuff from dorms, then went to chapel for devotion. worship and sharing for the second round, after that was prayer by rl 24. was really annointed by the holy spirit and set free from my bondages. (: thanks yuping! watched the ultimate hilarious video that every group took at vivo. laughed non stop. slacked a while at canteen after that, group photo then break camp! took 171 with zhong yu, as well as aaron and his cell. it was so nice talking to aaron, as well as victor and daniel, especially aaron. and finally found someone exactly the same age as me, besides sarah of course. then back home!
had a fanta-bulous retreat! this camp rocks cos the committe boomz! so true. really thankful for the committee's effort. :) and i made many new friends: those from my group, daniel kalai, aaron, victor, daniel, huishan, yeeling, yuping. i will miss retreat!

God knows what i have been up to during this one whole month that i have not blogged. facebook must have been the greatest rival to my blog, so yeah, i did not even get to put up a post during the end of the year.
i must say that 2009 has been a really great year, despite having a lot of downs, but i am really thankful that i got through this year with no major illness and that i also managed to go on to year 2!
besides being promoted to year 2, i must say that i thank God for one other big opportunity that has been given to me-that is to be the emcee for LAST YEAR'S (HAHA. not this year 'cos 2009 is over) SHINE 2010- YouthNet's Got Talent! it was the greatest opportunity to work with these people:
dalston
joel
peihua
terry
inez
charmaine
jennifer
faith leo
ben seow
vanessa seow
boon bing
si jun
jia sheng
pastor lawrence tan
liang ming
jessica
and jaren
AND all of the performers!
honestly, it was so so FUN and i truly enjoyed myself despite the stress and challenges. thank you for all of your encouragement and advice. really appreciate it people! having made so many new friends, i just feel blessed. i will miss the rehearsals, the shopping, sitting in joel's car, and of course, the endless amount of crapping and joking around. i want to work with them again!!!
oh yeah, so countdown past and i had another event the next day-- that is uncle Clement and auntie Claire's tribe meeting, and i was in charge of the children's programme. imagine how tired i was doing countdown the previous night and the early morning that day, so i had to literally drag myself out of the bed to touch centre, yes, touch centre again. it's like i have been stuck with touch centre ever since the first cdp rehearsal. but it was great fun working with the kids, and i once again made a few new friends, including small boy daryl and eugene. and i met FAITH!! haha. mini kelly clarkson, that's how i call her. food was not bad, especially because of the eclairs.
God i have a few prayer requests this year,
and that is
for me to have very good health
for me to do extremely well for A levels
for me to do countdown party again
for me to just do events again, while balancing my time very well
and for me to get along well with every single person i know
amen.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MUCH FOR THE WISHES! :D
anyway, had meeting yesterday with ct clique minus cr and nick in macs to discuss about congress plans. everybody was late la. this proves that it is never a good idea to set a meeting at 9a.m during the holidays. haha. the meeting was not bad, and i am excited about the fact that there will be a camp next year, which i hopefully can help to plan for!! halfway through, wl and van said that they needed to go to the toilet, but i did not suspect that anything was wrong. they took quite a while, so i began to worry that maybe something has happened to van since she said beforehand that she was sick, and plus i saw weiyao whispering something to wei xun and wei xun to cat. i was about to stand up and go to the toilet, and suddenly, wl and van appeared in front of me with a slice of blackforest cake and a candle! shocked me like nothing! so yeah, there was the birthday song, the wish-making and the candle blowing. THANKS GUYS! YOU ROCK! left them at 11.30 to meet dan and joce at ion orchard.
reached ion's fish and co, and saw dan and joce seating there. so we talked for a while, and then dan said he needed the toilet, so once again, i did not suspect anything. he took quite a while, and i started wondering why was he taking such a long time. finally he came back, but at first i did not realise that he brought someone back with him--BESTIE!!!!!!!!! :)))))))))))))))))))))) I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK WHEN I TURNED AROUND AND SAW BESTIE STANDING NEXT TO ME! OH MY GOSH! can you imagine how HAPPY i was?? had lunch and then we settled the bill, but since birthday girl was at fish and co having lunch, there was 10% off the bill, but they needed my ez-link card. again, they took so long to settle the bill, and i was sensing something was amiss. then the whole fish and co staff stood beside me, and asked me to stand on the chair! i was like, what?!?!?! but i did after much persuasion and reluctance. lol. the crew made me hold my birthday ice cream and a sparkler, which kind of did not help things out. then they sang a birthday rap and the birthday song for me. i bet the people outside were watching la. so embarrasing! left fish and co and walked around ion, and cam whored before sending joce and dan off to the mrt station. walked with bestie to uniqlo and g2000 to see some clothes, and i was bestie's fashion adviser! so honoured hahaha. trained down to city hall with bestie after that, but he dropped off at dhoby to head home.
met ct clique at city hall after that as they wanted to have lunch at sakae at citilink. i like the ambience at citilink's sakae, should go there and eat someday. haha. nothing much happened, mostly talking about random stuff:)
went down to somerset after that to meet regina at 313 @ somerset. it was the first time that i stepped into this new shopping mall, but it looks not too bad. the main thing is that the forever 21 store spans over 2 floors!! and uniqlo is so huge! met asraf outside uniqlo, and this guy thought i was going to meet a boyfriend which i did not even have. hahaha. met regina after that, and went to see uniqlo's jeans. but since i was in urgent need of a white blazer for countdown party, so we headed to far east to check out the shops. and i was so happy to get a white one for only 20 bucks! what a steal. i hope to get their leather jacket from the shops there. they look good! trained to amk hub after that, for her to go home and for me to meet my family for dinner at ichiban sushi.
/edit: i must emphasise the point that i was really glad that eddie gan called me to wish me happy birthday because i thought the noob forgot about my birthday. can't wait to meet up with him and kristle after kristle's back from japan!
still, i had a blast yesterday, thanks to everyone!!! :DDD

met dalston yesterday after sl project in the morning. i was really tired because i had to carry books, which were heavy and in boxes, from canteen to the container classroom. so funny. was supposed to meet him at ion orchard, but he took quite a while to reach. so i called him and asked him if he was lost. then he told me that his heel from his $600 shoe actually came off. oh dear. so i went down to taka to find him, but i could not find him. well, but we met each other in the end. so i got to know a lot about dalston. haha. mostly about what we are doing now, our families etc. headed to mos burger after that for lunch and he was such a gentleman! he treated me to lunch and fully paid for me! so nice..but he is really a shopaholic too! really knows how to look at the good, or say, branded products, such as agnes b and ck. oh well. as he had an interview with recruit express, so we headed down to raffles place's uob plaza and along the train ride, he kept trying to ask me who i like since i already knew that he was taken by this girl called audris. haha. oh well dalston, you failed in trying to get the answer. haha. waited for him at dome, but the things were so overpriced! luckily they allowed me to stay there. phew. left raffles place haf an hour later, and headed down to city hall. went to gloria jean's to sit down, only to be interrupted by a bout of phone calls, including one from joel tan!! and the best part was that dalston told me to pick up and talk to him-.- since i refused, now the both were ganging up against me to make life difficult for me this sunday. argh. LOL. so finally dalston had like time to look through the script that i tried to squeeze out of my creative juices; it was not very good though. and then we had a good time crapping away. decided to do a bit of shopping so we walked around bally's,topshop and prints. left after that..
i would say that dalston left a very lasting impression on me. he is intelligent, nice, speaks good english, a gentleman, rich(like duh) but definitely a workaholic. and he serves God too. too bad that he is taken! but he is a nice man la. hoping that i'll be able to establish a good friendship with dalston...(:
